I also found Peter Kenny’s female voices in this one, especially anything elven, or some other magical creature or human, terrible – whispery rubbish for the most part. Not all the little stories were like that, but for the most part this book provided a rather poor introduction to additional characters. Seemed to be a popular word - “melodious,” in this book at least, odious would have been a much better description of the songs, and most things it described, as heard in this case. Melodious continually popped up, to describe the noise, as it emerged from Peter Kenny’s throat. It had a bad start, involving an infuriating singing mermaid, and her “melodious” (reportedly) burblings. A must listen for fans of The Witcher, and those who are new to the series! Start by listening to The Last Wish, but before you move on to Blood of Elves, the start of the main series of Witcher novels, don't miss out on Sword of Destiny. There are also laughs aplenty and unexpected moments where you'll feel like you've been kicked in the gut. The second book in the Witcher series, Sword of Destiny takes us even further into the life of Geralt of Rivia, Witcher of the Wolf School of Kaer Morhen, and the many unusual and interesting characters he meets on The Path. If I didn't have to move about, speak to people, and live life a little bit, I would have happily listened to Sword of Destiny from start to finish in one sitting.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting? When it comes to the Witcher characters though, Peter Kenny is fantastic! Every character is completely unique and recogniseable, and listening to this audiobook has given me a completely new experience of Sword of Destiny. So far I've only hear Peter Kenny reading Andrzej Sapkowski's The Last Wish, and Blood of Elves, but I'll definitely be listening to his other work in future. Have you listened to any of Peter Kenny’s other performances? How does this one compare? Listening to Geralt talking to the mermaid using their singing dialect.what could have easily sounded like Sean Bean having a go at drunken karaoke on a night out is actually believable and really well done! What was one of the most memorable moments of Sword of Destiny? Even though it is a collection of short stories, they all fit together so well that it's actually easy to forget this.just brilliant. Sword of Destiny is one of the best audiobooks I've listened to. Where does Sword of Destiny rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
